Perfect One Direction

#One Direction released their new song "Perfect"

Friday, and according to the band's fans it's, well, "perfect." It's the second single from their fifth album Made in the A.M., which is set for release on Friday, Nov. 13. The song follows the success of "Drag Me Down," the boy band's first single since Zayn Malik quit earlier this year. Band members Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles wrote the song along with Jacob Kasher, John Ryan, Maureen Anne McDonald and producers Julian Bunetta, Jesse Shatkin. AFTERHRS also produced the song . After a snippet was released earlier this week, many blogs speculated that the song was about Styles' ex-girlfriend, #Taylor Swift; he has not commented on the allegations.

Thanksgiving In Canada 2015

Today is Thanksgiving in Canada, so it is a time to celebrate. The holiday always lands on the second Monday in October and it's meant to honor the harvest as well as other blessings of the year. In the provinces of Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia, Thanksgiving is an optional holiday. The Canadian Football League has a nationally televised doubleheader called the Thanksgiving Day Classic and there are big parades like the Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest. In addition, Canadian Thanksgiving falls on the same day as Columbus Day and Indigenous Peoples' Day, which are celebrated in the United States. So, let's take a moment to celebrate the holiday.

Thanksgiving: A Brief Canadian History .The history of the Canadian

Thanksgiving goes back to English explorer,Martin Frobisher,who had been trying to find a safe northern passage to the orient.He did not succeed but established a settlement and in 1578 held a formal ceremony in what is Newfoundland to give thanks for surviving the long journey. This is considered the first Thanksgiving ,and as other settlers arrived they continued this tradition .

CENTURIES OLD

Meanwhile French settlers had arrived with Samuel de Champlain and also held feasts of thanks. They formed “The Order of Good Cheer” and shared their bounty with their “Indian” neighbors. .After the Seven Years War ended in 1763, citizens of Halifax held a special Thanksgiving.During the American Revolution, those Americans who remained loyal to England, migrated to Canada and brought with them many of the traditions of American Thanksgiving.In 1879 Parliament declared November 6th as a day of Thanksgiving and also a national holiday. Subsequently over the years many dates were used for Thanksgiving, the most popular, the 3rd Monday in October. After world war I,Armisitce Day and Thanksgiving were both celebrated on the Monday of the week where Novemmber 11th fell.Ten years later Armistice Day was renamed Remembrance Day .On January 31st ,1957 the parliament of Canada declared : A day of Thanksgiving to Almighty God for the bountiful harvest with which Canada has been blessed…to be observed on the 2nd Monday in October. Today the holiday is celebrated in both a religious and secular manner. I hope yours is truly a happy occasion.
